According to PTC, Creo 11 introduces significant enhancements that facilitate a broad range of improvements in areas such as electrification, composites, model-based definition, simulation-driven design, and manufacturing. Brian Thompson, General Manager of Creo at PTC, emphasized that the upgrades will be utilized daily by design engineers. He highlighted that the enhancements include AI-powered generative design and integrated Ansys-based simulation, which allow for earlier implementation of simulation-driven design in the development process, thereby improving time to market, initial product quality, and manufacturing costs.

Creo 11 offers a suite of upgrades focused on usability and productivity. These include support for multibody concepts which streamline part design workflows, an improved Shrinkwrap feature for seamless assembly handling, and an upgraded enclosure volume feature for optimal packaging solutions. Additionally, the software provides strengthened capabilities in electrification, such as advanced cabling tools and ECAD-MCAD collaboration, aligning with the growing emphasis on electrification across industries.

The software also features advancements in composite design and manufacturing, more robust model-based definition tools, and new simulation-driven design capabilities that aid in design ideation, guidance, and validation. The generative design functionality has been enhanced with new features such as minimum feature size limits, bearing load support, and constraints for planar symmetry.

Furthermore, Creo 11 enhances its manufacturing tools, optimizing both additive and subtractive processes to increase efficiency and versatility in manufacturing. Notable improvements include enhanced lattice structure creation and smoother operations like 4-axis rotary milling and area turning.

Alongside Creo 11, PTC has also unveiled the latest version of Creo+, which offers a cloud-based collaborative environment and access to the same core technologies as the on-premises versions without the need for data translation. This ensures full compatibility and enhances user experience by leveraging the cloud's power.
