Hexagon Metrology Portable arm offers easier on-the-move measurement
UK – The latest addition to Hexagon Metrology’s portable measuring arm range is the Romer Absolute Arm Compact.
It replaces the Romer Multi Gage, and comes in two models, certified to ISO 10360-2 or B89.4.22. Hexagon said the new equipment uses Romer range technology to provide high-tolerance 3D measurement in a 1.2 m volume, and can be used in confined spaces. It features a counterweight system, allowing use without mountings.
The company noted that absolute encoders mean no referencing is required; it can be placed on any surface and is ready for use. The Romer arm feature packs are compatible with wireless battery-powered operation.
Other features are automatic probe recognition and haptic feedback to alert users if an axis limit is reached. It is compatible with metrology software packages.
