UK – Schunk’s “trade-in” offer that was unveiled in June has now been extended to the end of 2016. This offer applies to all of the company’s tool holders and a wide variety of its 8-inch lathe chucks.

To improve tool-life and machining performance through high quality tool-holding equipment, this offer will also provide machine shops the opportunity to try Schunk’s new Tendo-E compact. A trade-in may mean the exchange of tool-holders to get the benefit of higher machining speeds and feeds through tool holding equipment that are said to deliver high concentricity, clamping forces and vibration damping.

According to Schunk, the centrifugal forces of the company’s lathe chucks achieved during turning operations will exponentially reduce the clamping forces of the chuck as the rotational speed of both chuck and component increase. Using the trading-in for an upgrade to a Schunk chuck, such as the Rota-S Series, can provide performance parameters that can improve production levels and quality, the company says.
