Lach Diamant PCD cartridge milling cutter for diameters of up to 450 mm

Germany – Lach Diamant has introduced the "dia-blue-power" PCD cartridge milling cutter for diameters from 125 mm to 450 mm.

For many years, Lach Diamant’s PCD mono-block milling cutters have been proving their performance due to an extremely high number of teeth up to diameters of 100 mm in aluminium machining, the company says. According to Lach Diamant, the award-winning PCD mono-block milling cutter with brazed cutting edges, chip and shear angle and a large chip space (Hessian Innovation Prize in 2004) created the basis for better performance and cost reductions in the automobile and composite industries. With feed speeds of over 30,000 mm/min, this new PCD tool is said to be ideal for tasks during HPC/HSC edge and face milling of nonferrous metals and composite materials.

The form-locking pressure pieces feature a radially shaped machining area with a possible teeth number from Z14 to Z56 and allow for maximum machining performance of up to 6 mm – compared to standard infeeds of maximum 1.5 mm in one run. This also means that users of a PCD cartridge milling cutter "dia-blue-power" will save more than half the machining time when compared with similar models, Lach claims.

As for PCD mono-block milling cutters, Lach Diamant provides even better performance and cleanliness at the components via two additional options, "cool injection" and "chip breaker plus".

The new "dia-blue-power" is recommended for HSC/HPC machining with speeds of up to vc = 6000 m/min (thanks to the radially shaped machining area) and feeds of up to vf = 30 m/min.
