Software Market Open Mind acquires majority stake in MES manufacturer Hummingbird

Software developer Open Mind Technologies and Hummingbird Systems have been cooperating since 2020 — now the manufacturer of the Hypermill CAD/CAM suite has acquired a 51 percent stake in the MES manufacturer.

With the acquisition of a majority stake in Hummingbird, Open Mind is strengthening its portfolio for networked, digitised manufacturing processes. As part of the previous collaboration, the CAD/CAM system has already been integrated into the Manufacturing Execution System. The participation enables users to better network, control, automate and optimise processes throughout the production process. The Hummingbird MES system remains open for the integration of other CAM systems.
