The software on show will include the 2015 releases of the Power-Shape Pro CAD package, the Power-Mill CAM system and the Electrode suite for the design, machining and inspection of electrodes.

Turning vision into reality

Delcam said that Power-Shape Pro offers a combination of solid, surface and direct modelling along with reverse engineering functionality, and provides what is claimed to be the most comprehensive range of design techniques available in a single CAD program. Having all the different technologies in the same package reduces the need to transfer data between multiple programs and so streamlines the whole product development process, Delcam said.

The new release of Power-Mill, Delcam’s programming system for high-speed and 5-axis machining, includes improvements to the Vortex high-efficiency area-clearance strategy, along with collision checking that has been expanded to include near misses and more efficient raster finishing. Delcam claims that Vortex produces safe toolpaths with a much deeper cut by using a controlled engagement angle that maintains the optimum cutting conditions for the whole toolpath. Delcam Electrode now includes the option to output an electrode schedule from the software. Data can be output in HTML, Excel or CSV format as a table describing each electrode required and its key data.
