Leading company in digital manufacturing Proto Labs has just announced that Bjoern Klaas will take over as Vice President and Managing Director of the company’s European operations (headquartered in the UK) as of 1 December 2017.
Succeeding John Tumelty, who retires end of this year and will facilitate a smooth transition until then, Klaas has held key positions with global polymer supplier Polyone and most recently as VP and GM for the company’s USA-based Color-Matrix Group. Klaas was CEO and GM of Colorant Chromatics through early 2012 and has also held management positions at chemical company Clariant.
“Bjoern’s experience in international leadership and his knowledge of the manufacturing industry will be invaluable,” said Vicki Holt, president and CEO at Proto Labs.
Proto Labs launched its manufacturing services in the UK in 2005 and has since additional manufacturing operations in Germany and Finland. Its European region reported revenues of £50 million for the past 12 months ended June 30, 2017, noting a 20% growth, the company reports.
