Hasco Hasenclever Needle Valve Nozzle Series Suited for Multicavity Closure Cap and Container Moulding

Hasco’s new needle valve system provides better process control, with balanced filling of all mould cavities guaranteed by the simultaneous opening of the valve pins after a certain amount of pressure has built up. It ensures optimum transmission of the holding pressure and prevents stringing and drooling of melt from the gates.

The design of the Z3150 also ensures a long mould life, thanks to the needle guidance being close to the gate and having a minimal stroke. An additional extraction thread for the needle guide, as well as extraction holes for the nozzle heating, increases maintenance friendliness.

The Valve Gate Shot is best suited for processing polyolefins and styrene in the shot weight range of 5 to 25 g. With a nozzle front sealing diameter of only 10 mm, body diameter of 16.5 mm and finely scaled nozzle lengths of 80 to 180 mm, this range makes it possible to work with small cavity centres and also to attain difficult gating positions on the article to be moulded.

The interchangeable thermocouple and long-life heater add to this nozzle’s ease of maintenance. Hasco has taken the flexible position of the heating outlet a step further by introducing a more stable connecting surface. This design allows the heating unit to be replaced after the mould plate has been pulled apart on the machine. Dismantling the mould is unnecessary, so downtime is minimized.

Additionally, the needle valve pin can be changed on the machine and adjusted from the rear without dismantling the hot runner. If necessary, individual cavities can be switched off, and the relevant needle can be held in the closed position.

Nozzles in the Z3150 range are supplied as standard in combination with the Z10750 series of pneumatic needle valves. Alternatively, other Hasco drive systems, such as plate control units, can be implemented and other drive media deployed. With the cost-to-performance ratio of the Z3150, Hasco effectively can offer a manifold needle valve solution for the price of a conventional open system without any compromising of quality.
