Movacolor introduced its first volumetric unit in 1997, which has been widely utilized in various applications and undergone several enhancements to adapt to evolving industry demands. The company is now launching the MDS Volumetric Feeder, a new volumetric dosing system designed for plastic manufacturers looking for high performance at an affordable cost.

The feeder is equipped with innovative features, including an intuitive touch screen and advanced software, aiming to set a new industry standard for volumetric feeding. The system is capable of handling a range of materials and is designed for ease of use, reducing overdosing and thereby saving material and process costs.

The device features a stepper motor, a dosing house, a stainless-steel hopper, and a neckpiece designed for optimal blend homogeneity. It is compatible with all dosing tools from Movacolor's MDS Balance range, offering flexibility and precision in dosing with a capacity of up to 72 kg/h.

The MDS Volumetric Feeder is designed for quick cleaning and material changes, significantly reducing downtime and changeover times. It also includes a 4.3” Volutouch controller with a capacitive touchscreen, capable of managing up to two units and offering features like easy recipe management and a wireless web interface for seamless data and recipe transfers.

The feeder is compatible with Movacolor's modular dosing concept, allowing for integration with other units to meet specific production needs. It has been launched in the Asia-Pacific region as of January 25, 2024, with plans to introduce it to North and Latin American markets at the NPE exhibition in Orlando, FL, on May 6, 2024. The EMEA launch will occur shortly thereafter, with an expected delivery time of 2-3 weeks from purchase..
