The Z-Series Mould Alignment Locks, which were introduced to the market by tooling specialist Progressive Components in 2012, have been tested and proven to show no wear even after 2 million cycles, the company has reported.

According to the manufacturer, this type of robustness has been achieved through a combination of engagement geometry, materials and treatments, particulate capturing, and lubrication distribution. Benefits from using the devices are said to include clean and consistent lubrication and longevity.

The properties and performance were confirmed by independent lab testing as well as monitoring performance in real world conditions, the supplier said.
