Economy Mold-Masters CEO sees some plastics processing, growth returning to Europe
Company to maintain “strong manufacturing bases” in Europe, North America.
Mold-Masters CEO Bill Barker has forecast a rise in plastics converting in Europe, a region where the Canadian firm has enjoyed success.
In an interview with the Toronto-based newspaper Globe and Mail, Barker said: “Surprisingly, our business in Europe over the last number of years has shown very high growth ... The long-term growth characteristics of Europe remain very robust.”
Barker added that Mold-Masters, which is currently being taken over by Milacron, is “very confident” about economic policies in Europe, a region he said will remain a company production hub. “We intend to have a very strong manufacturing base in North America and Europe,” he told the paper. “In our business you have to be close to your customers to be able to service them, and that requires manufacturing in both those regions.”
