Following its recent management buyout, advanced abrasives and surface finishing specialist Master Abrasives has announced the appointment of Stephen Porteous as technical sales representative for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Paul Batson, Master’s sales and marketing director, said: “Stephen has specific sales and engineering experience which will allow us to target growth in Scotland.”

Based in Glasgow, Porteous is a formally trained mechanical engineering apprentice, having completed his indenture papers with Glacier Metals (now called GGB), his employer explained, adding that he has spent time in the machine tool and abrasives sectors in the UK and Australia.
