The Endura range of linear gantry milling machines by Fooke meet the need for extremely high-speed milling machines by model-making, prototype construction and tool- and mould-making industries, the manufacturer said. These applications demand very tight positional control of milling tools in the workspace. The machines’ dynamic stiffness makes it suitable for customers with high requirements in terms of precision, speed and surface quality, the company said. The rigid machine structure, together with the use of linear drives, is one of the reasons for the machine dynamics.

Since linear drive motors are used, many mechanical elements can be omitted, e.g., gears, bearings, ball screws and rack gears, and rigidity, reliability and precision are thereby increased, according to the supplier.
