Lamiera 2017 Lamiera in Milan almost fully booked
Italy - Two months before its debut in Milan, Lamiera, the international biennial exhibition for the metal-forming machine tool industry, is almost fully-booked, the organisers say. To date, 440 companies have applied to take part in the event, which will be held at Fieramilano Rho (halls 13 and 15) from 17- 20 May.
With over 40,000 m2 exhibition area, displays with regard to sheet metal forming machinery, bar, tube and section-working machines, presses, blanking and punching machines, laser, robots, automation, moulds and dies, heat treatment, surface treatment and finishing, wires and metal carpentry, and subcontracting will be showcased.
The core of the trade show will be represented by exhibitors from the sheet metal forming and cutting machines, laser cutting and welding sectors. In particular, the number of exhibitors manufacturing presses, robots and components has doubled compared to the last edition.
The new themed areas, focusing on products and solutions related to metal forming technologies, will complement the exhibition and is promoted by Ucimu-Sistemi per Produrre and organised by Ceu-Centro Esposizioni Ucimu.
Italy plays a primary role
There are already over 30 companies taking part in the new Fastener Industry area, dedicated to screws, bolts, fastening and clamping systems; more than 20 are companies exhibiting within Ecocoatech, - an area created in co-operation with Anver, Italian Association of Industrial Coaters - presenting innovative inter-operational processes for sheet metal coating and painting. Blech Italy Service, centred on technical subcontracting and services for the industry, will complete Lamiera's comprehensive offering.
According to the organisers, the number of exhibitors achieved by Lamiera to date proves that the choice to move the exhibition venue to Milan and scheduling it on odd years, has been well-accepted by the exhibitors who have actually decided to present their product offerings in Italy for the second consecutive year.
“On the other hand, Italy plays a primary role in the international rankings of the sector. Third among manufacturers, second among exporters and fourth in the ranking of consumers, our country can rely on leading enterprises that specialise in sheet metal forming and machining,” Massimo Carboniero, President of Ucimu said.
