Five months before the opening, Lamiera reaffirms its role as reference exhibition for the sector of sheet metal forming, cutting and processing machines and related technologies. Promoted by Ucimu – Sistemi per Produrre, the Italian machine tools, robots and automation systems manufacturers’ association, and organised by CEU – Centro Esposizioni Ucimu, Lamiera will be held at Fieramilano Rho from Tuesday 6 to Friday 9 May 2025.

To this day, over 200 registered companies have applied to exhibit, i.e. 20 percent more than the number collected, in the same period, for the 2023 edition. In addition to the numerous confirmations, the exhibition secretariat also reports “important returns” that will significantly contribute, along with all the others, to attracting visitors from Italy and abroad.

With regard to foreign countries, 24 percent of the applications received to date are from foreign companies, which consider Italy as a market of great interest and potential.

The only international event in Italy specifically dedicated to this sector, edition after edition, Lamiera has stood out as one of the most important trade fairs on the international scene.

Machines, plants, equipment for sheet metal, tubes, profiles, wires and structural metal processing and cutting; presses, moulds and dies, welding, surface treatments and finishing, parts, components, accessories, tooling, fastener materials, technical and industrial subcontracting are the core of the exhibition. In addition to this, the event will emphasise several machine-related technological themes.

Fabbrica Futura will be focused on software and technologies for connectivity and data management, automation and digital and robotic systems applied to sheet metal processing; Saldatech will offer an overview of the wide and diversified world of welding, which is among the most important sheet metal joining technologies; Fastener Industry will present ranges of screws, bolts, clamping and fastening systems; World of Heat and Surface Treatments will bring together machines, equipment, accessories and consumables dedicated to pre- and post-production treatments for ferrous and non-ferrous materials, in order to provide a complete overview of this constantly evolving segment; Metrology & Testing will be centred on systems, testing and measuring machines and quality control, which are essential for the production of the sector; Blech Italy Service will offer technical subcontracting and services for the industry of the sector: these are the six technological themes of the exhibition.

Moreover, starting this year, Lamiera will propose a Revamping & Retrofitting area dedicated to machines and plants that have been adequately re-conditioned and equipped with new functionalities, in order to meet the needs of a market that is complementary to that of “new machinery” and partly in line with the criteria of the circular economy.

“With this start and considering the improvement in the market expected in 2025, we believe that the trade show, now in its twenty-third edition, can do better than the previous edition”, said Alfredo Mariotti, general director of Ucimu – Sistemi per Produrre. “After all, the decision to bring forward the opening of the exhibition by one day, in order to conclude it within the workdays in the week and thus be aligned with the most part of international events regarding the sector, will allow us to offer our visitors the opportunity to take full advantage of the concomitance with “Made in Steel”, the exhibition dedicated to the steel industry, organised in front of the halls occupied by Lamiera, (from Tuesday to Thursday)”

Side projects and initiatives will add further value to the trade show, enabling a comprehensive visit experience. Lamia Lamiera, the event area of the exhibition, will again present a rich programme of meetings concerning important themes for the sector. The incoming of foreign operators and the initiatives related to education will also be again part of the event programme.
