Solid carbide drills, especially developed for drilling different steels, high grade steels and cast iron materials. They offer a high productivity also for high feed rates and cutting speeds, by maintaining a very good drill hole quality and surface quality.

The tools can be adopted for milling and for turning machines and thanks to the universal design they can be adopted for almost all drilling operations.

The front surface geometry with 2 cutting edges and the point angle of 140° allow precise pre-drilling by the excellent centring capability.

The great chip spaces provide an optimal chip flow even for drilling depths of 5xD.

The deeply ground flutes avoid bird nesting, the optimized groove shape, with outlet radius, forms the chip in the groove surface and not along the wall of the drill hole, that avoid bucklings and adherences. Also the honed surface supports the chip flow.

The cooling channels are another factor in favour of the chip flow, thanks to them an optimal cooling at the chisel edge is gained additionally during the drilling process and the heat input in the working material is minimized. This leads to longer tool lives by low temperatures and to a very high operational security, even with high feed rates and cutting speeds.

Up to shank diameter 6mm the drills are equipped with 2 cooling channels, starting with shank diameter 8 mm the drills have 4 cooling channels. 

The optimized micro geometry allow a smooth running process, also with maximal working performance and therefore also highly precise drill holes with best surface quality are gained.

The honed surface reduces additionally scragginesses. The tool enters cleanly in the material and leaves no feathering.

The especially for these drill types developed quality DR20 consists of a finest grain carbide, DIN ISO field K20-40 and a very even AITiN-supernitride coating.

The quality DR20 offers a low fracture susceptibility, high stability and reliability.

The mounting shank for tools with shank-diameter <6mm is made to DIN 6535-HA. From shank-diameter 6mm or bigger there are three possibilities: DIN 6535-HA, DIN 6535-HB (Weldon) or –HE (Whistle-Notch) .

The tools are available in diameter range from 2,0 mm up to 20,0 mm, in the length 5xD. Up to diameter 10,0mm they are available in 1/10 gradations.

The universal design and the comprehensive programme, causing less necessity of tools ensure a reduction of storage costs.

Furthermore the Jongen UNI-MILL solid carbide drills VHB 55505A can be reground by Jongen and offer thereby a high cost-benefit ratio.
