Ireland’s Prior PLM Medical (formerly Prior Tool and Die Limited) has become the first company in the EU to qualify as a “Certified Maintenance Provider” for moulds, according to US certification firm Toolingdocs.

The company said it was established in 2001 as a travelling seminar circuit to address mould maintenance throughout North America. The training programme was developed in-house and designed around best practices in mould maintenance and repair.

The company has reportedly established itself as a leading authority on the subject and recently expanded its training excursions to a number of areas outside its initial market.

Toolingdocs is part of the PCIC Group, which also includes Progressive Components, Roehr Tool and AST Technology.

Prior PLM Medical, based in Carrick-on-Shannon, said it specialises in the design and manufacture of measuring equipment for the medical device industry.
