The grippers are said to handle inserts securely for optimum process security – even at high cycle times. To achieve this unique combination of benefits, the gripper can be be tailored specifically to the precise geometric shape of the material handled, according to the supplier, which said it can provide both vacuum- and air-powered versions. Housing materials available for the devices include a high-strength aluminium compound or a polyamide-based high-performance plastic. These materials are very lightweight, making them ideal for high dynamic loads, the company said.

FIPA explained that the insert-grippers are affordable for the smallest of batch sizes as well as even single-piece runs. In addition, the user can integrate both the vacuum- and air-powered grippers with existing equipment, the company added.
