The partnership of CG Tech with Kyocera and LMG Solutions to hold a Lunch & Learn event that will demonstrate emerging technologies for manufacturers has been set for 22 May. The focus is on single-operation manufacturing and optimisation of complex components and will help manufacturers achieve productivity improvements. Talks by industry leaders will cover how manufacturers can apply new technologies to make significant time savings, improve cutting tool and machine life, while reducing costs of manufacturing machined aerospace and automotive components.

CGTech says it will feature the benefits of the company's CNC simulation, verification and optimisation softwareVericut Force Milling module using live software demonstrations and presentations at this do.

According to the company, Force is a physics-based toolpath optimisation module that determines the maximum, reliable feed rate for a given cutting condition based on four factors: force on the cutter, spindle power, maximum chip thickness, and maximum allowable feed rate. It calculates ideal feed rates by analysing tool geometry and parameters, material properties of the stock and cutting tool, detailed cutting edge geometry and Vericut 's cut-by-cut contact conditions. Force is said to excel in difficult to machine materials and especially complex multi-axis cuts.

The company notes that Force, based on basics, is easy to set up and simple to use. After materials have been characterised they can also be applied to a broad range of cutters and machines in other NC machining operations.
