Solid granite bases are used for stability while an extruded aluminium column structure ensures rigidity, Starrett says.

Test frames for material and force measurement are available in a single column format for load capacities of 500N, 1,000N, 2,500N and 5kN, and dual column for 10kN, 30kN and 50kN. The vertical test space ranges from 559 - 1,270 mm for the material and the force measurement testing frames. Vertical travel rate of 1,525 mm/min applies to all the testers. Minimum speeds differ with the force testers’ travel controlled down to 0.05 mm/min, while the material testers go to a much lower 0.001 mm/min to ensure maximum data capture at the point of yield or fracture.
