Braunform High cavity injection moulds for clean room applications
Germany – Braunform’s stand at Fakuma 2014 will focus on its MED mould standard for clean rooms.
The company is showcasing a modular 96 cavity injection mould for a Pen Hub needle holder.
A second Braunform high cavity injection mould, with a claimed cycle time of 3.9 seconds, will be demonstrated on a fully electric Engel e-motion 220t on Engel’s stand, Braunform said. It added that its high cavitation injection mould processes products in a highly automated, constantly monitored manufacturing cell. The mould has cores with diameters of 0.3 mm and 0.5 mm, and features modules that are individually centred and externally accessible, the supplier explained. Improvements in mould cooling are claimed to shorten cycle times.
Automation specialist Hekuma has developed a high-speed extraction system with an acceleration of up to 17 G for the unit and a camera quality control monitoring system automatically sorts rejected articles, such as broken cores.
