US machine tool builder Haas Automation has announced the selection of Jens Thing as managing director of Haas Automation Europe.

British manufacturing group announces new leadership

His appointment is part of Haas’ strategy to double annual worldwide sales to $2 billion (€1.5 billion), the company said.

A Danish national, Thing is said to be an accomplished and respected machine tool professional with over 25 years’ experience in sales, marketing, technical and management positions. Haas said he most recently worked in global marketing management for multi-national manufacturing technology companies.
