MEX 2017 Guiding, centering systems for high-performance tools
Standard parts specialist, Agathon, will present its round centering systems for backlash-free guiding and the centering of two plates/mould halves in tool construction (patent pending).
The systems, according to the company, offer an alternative to cubic flat centering systems to allow for lower overall costs, space-saving assembly, little to no maintenance, use in clean room environments, high initial load capacity and long tool life. Standard sizes are available from stock.
Standard series 7995 with an integrated cage stop for guiding short ejection strokes will also be premiered. The company says that market observation has shown that Agathon centerings are increasingly used due to their compact design that makes them apt for short-stroke applications. The fine centering system remains preloaded over the whole stroke and the pillar does not leave the bush. It added that with new design elements, a fine centering system with high process stability even for this type of application was developed .
Backlash-free roller guides for high-performance injection moulds as well as hybrid and punching tools will be displayed too. Additional fine/pre-centering can be dispensed with, when roller guides are used. The cage-retaining systems offered for this purpose, combined with a compression spring, depending on the application, enable the complete extension from the bush/preload and the precise cage positioning when the mould halves are joined together. Besides the extensive standard/ catalogue programme, special parts are manufactured according to customer drawings, for example, guide elements made of stainless material.
Apart from standard parts, Agathon also offers advice on solving demanding tasks.
The company will be in hall 6, booth A32.
