Studer said submissions should promote and strengthen developments in the machine industry through innovative approaches.

The company seeks thesis and research results with innovative machine concepts or components for machine tools in precision machining, alternative materials in mechanical engineering, simulation models of dynamic and thermal behaviour of machine tools, control and sensor concepts for machine tools and new or further developed manufacturing technologies, especially in hard-fine machining, such as grinding and hard turning.

The submission deadline is 31 October 2014. More information is available here.
