12th International Model, Mould and Tool Making Congress German model- and mould-makers release programme for 2013 congress
Germany’s federal model and mould making association has outlined their programme for the 12th International Model, Mould and Tool Making Congress, which is scheduled for 9–12 May 2013 at the BMW Welt Conference Centre in Munich.
The educational event is organised by the Model and Mould Making Federal Association in conjunction with the VDWF, the German association of tool and mould makers. The congress consists of an all-day symposium of expert lectures and association reports augmented by an array of special events, including plant tours.
The evening of Thursday, 9 May, offers a welcome reception in the foyer of the Bavarian parliament building, and Ulrich Hermann, president of the model and mould making association, and representatives from the city of Munich and the Bavarian Parliament are expected to be on hand to greet the guests.

The symposium on Friday runs from 8am to 5pm and is followed by a gala dinner with dancing and a show. Featured speakers include BMW designer Werner Haumayr, who is set to outline the creation of a BMW Group design model; VDWF President Thomas Seul’s presentation is titled “Quality—Made in Germany”; Rudolf G. Rampf, managing director of Rampf Co., will discuss “Design and Precision—From Tenth to Micrometre”; Konstantin Bikar, managing director of Bikar Co., will present “Welcome to the World of Metals”; and Klaus Felker, direct sales manager of Tebis Co., will talk about “CAD/CAM in Model, Mould and Tool Making—An On-Going Success Story”.
On Saturday, 11 May, participants can tour local companies as well as visit the Neuschwanstein Castle and take a raft excursion down the Isar River. A “Bavarian Night” in the Hofbräuhaus festival hall concludes the congress. Registration is open through 15 December 2012 and can be completed at www.mf-congress.eu.
