Trade Shows German metal working show EMO 2013 turns focus on 'Intelligence in Production'
Exhibitors face challenges for production technology worldwide – registration documents to be sent out to more than 60 countries.
The EMO metalworking show scheduled for 16 - 21 September 2013 in Hanover , Germany, has selected the motto "Intelligence in Production", according to the fair's organiser, the VDW, the country's association of machine tool builders.
In a globalised economy, "Intelligence in Production" offers an option for meeting customer requirements for production at different locations, the VDW said. These solutions will be on display at what is said to be the world’s biggest international platform for production technology, , according to VDW Executive Director Wilfried Schäfer. "Our customers are facing major challenges worldwide."
The VDW said that in the face of enormous pressure on costs, plus tough requirements for efficiency and minimised environmental impact, production operations will have to be maximally cost-effective in the future as well. "Production experts from all over the world are seeking answers to these challenges, which is why they are looking forward with keen anticipation to the EMO," Schäfer said.
In the past 20 years, international machine tool consumption has risen by 70%, the VDW said. It noted that more than half of the world’s production output of machine tools is exported, and Europe makes one machine for every two. At EMO 2013, around 2,000 firms from all over the world will be showcasing their corporate capabilities as partners for their customers on the global market, the association said.
It noted that the closing date for registrations is December 2012. Exhibitors can also register under www.emo-hannover.de.
