IPM tec (Intelligent Pulse Modulation) generator technology is now available for all new units from the Zimmer & Kriem Genius EDM range, the supplier and Euromold exhibitor said.

The IPM tec system was reportedly developed to provide precision and the lowest amount of wear. With the aid of intelligent pulse modulation, the unit helps users obtain the maximum from the eroding process.

Along with less wear and better precision, the company cited even shorter processing times as an advantage. Another advantage is surface quality, which the company quoted at 0.04 Ra for eroding in carbide and steel.

The supplier said with its Genius 700 unit and the generator technology, graphite electrodes can be profiled to a minimum diameter of 0.15mm and a length of 5mm in a graphite block.
