Matec Gantry centres offer stable conditions on a large scale
One unit can be equipped with a universal milling head.
The gantry machining centres 30 PB and the larger 40 PB model (photo) will be shown by Germany’s Matec Maschinenbau. The 30 PB machining centre is a floor-running variant of the company’s Matec-30 P. It comes equipped with a 2-axis swivel head with taper SK 40/ HSK-A 63, the company said. It explained that the high-performance motor spindle with 30kW and a constant speed of 9,000 to 42,000 rpm provides for optimum chipping of all materials.
The floor-running gantry and a flush-embedded machine table ensure easy loading by lift trucks and cranes for the machining of heavy parts, the company said. Moreover, all sides of the mounting table are said to be easily accessible. The Matec-30 PB is optionally available as Matec-30 PBU, which is equipped with a universal milling head. This universal milling head increases the working area in Z-direction by 250 mm and offers 360-degree complete machining, according to the suppler.
