IAA 2015 Fully booked Frankfurt Motor Show IAA reflects the automotive industry's growth path

Germany - The 66th International Motor Show (IAA) Cars opened its doors in Frankfurt, Germany on 15 September 2015 and once again underscored its position as the international leader among the major automotive exhibitions. The exhibition was once again fully booked. A total of 1,103 exhibitors from 39 countries were presenting their new developments in the exhibition halls on a floorspace of 230,000 m².

According to organiser VDA (German Association of the Automotive Industry), this was the highest number of exhibitors since the turn of the century. And the Frankfurt Motor Show continues to be truly international: Of the exhibiting companies, 40% came from countries other than Germany.

Furthermore, IAA acts as a measure of how the automotive industry is globally performing. "We are delighted that the Western European passenger car market is developing so dynamically at this time," Matthias Wissmann, president of the VDA said. "Over the year as a whole we expect to see a rise of almost 6% to 12.8 million passenger cars. The new EU member states are also making progress."
