German precision tool supplier Haimer said Andreas Haimer has assumed the roles of company president and managing director as of 1 January 2014.

The son of company founders Claudia and Franz Haimer was previously responsible for the firm’s international business.

The president said the firm’s global staff totals nearly 400, with 300 of the jobs being at the headquarters in Ingenhausen. He touted domestic operations: “We are convinced that we can produce economically in Germany over the long term.” He added that many growth regions are outside Germany.
