Flexible clamping with Vario-Line vices
The machine vices of the Hilma Vario-Line are suitable for quick and easy clamping and positioning of differently sized workpieces. A combination of basic and interchangeable jaws held by permanent magnets enables a change within seconds. The vices can be used horizontally and vertically and are adaptable by way of a multitude of parameters such as travel, working space, clamping surface and machining task. As an option, a clamping force display for continuous and exact clamping force application and control is available. Thus, process safety is positively influenced and operation of the clamping system is simplified. New applications for the clamping of workpieces without deformation are shown on Hilma Vario-Line clamping systems.
MEX 2017
Moulding Expo is about to start!
The group of companies also offers an overview of its comprehensive range of hydraulic cylinders for die and mould making. Compact, single and double-acting elements for the operation of slides, core pins, core pullers and core puller plates are exhibited. Roemheld also displays customer-specific developments, e.g., for high-temperature applications in foundries and forges and in particularly dirty work processes. This includes block cylinders with integrated cooling channels and a special sealing technology that can be used at up to 240°. Floating metallic wipers remove adhering dirt even in the case of long-stroke piston rods.
As a complement to the components for the fixing of tools, Roemheld shows options for the secure change at punches or presses. The core of the product portfolio, which includes carrying consoles, roller and ball bars as well as media couplings, is the RWA die-changing cart. The large version is designed for the transport of workpieces with a weight of up to 1,600 kg. The smaller variants for weights of up to 500 kg is on display at the show.
The electrically driven walking and lifting cart has an electro-hydraulic lifting platform that is used at the same time as the changing table for the uncomplicated insertion of workpieces on the press bed. Integrated hydraulic ball bars and a docking function facilitate the die change and ensure safety at the same time. When docking to the bed, the ball bars on the height-adjustable cart are lifted, and the die can be easily projection-pushed to the transport surface.
During undocking, the balls lower automatically and fix the die without slippage. A safety circuit ensures that the die-changing cart can only be displaced with lowered ball bars. In addition, the die is secured on the lifting platform by removable safety bars at the front and on the sides. The energy is supplied by an integrated battery, which can be used for a three-hour drive at full load. The die-changing cart is centrally operated by a multi-functional drawbar with clear display.
