Editor: Eric Culp
K 2013 is continuing where the successful 2010 fair left off, according to organiser Messe Düsseldorf. The official registration deadline has passed, and demand for stand space has risen sharply, with all19 halls of Düsseldorf’s exhibition grounds to be fully occupied.
Some 3,000 exhibiting companies will participate in K come 16–23 October 2013, according to organiser Messe Düsseldorf.

The organiser says all the big-name companies in the international plastics and rubber industry will take part in its flagship fair in October of next year. The claim on exhibit space suggests to Messe Düsseldorf that many exhibitors want to make a bigger impact at the next fair.
Werner M. Dornscheidt, president and CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, sees the high level of interest from the entire sector as confirmation of the K show’s status. “K 2013 will give us a complete overview of the changing world market, and we can look forward to a multitude of impressive innovations. We know that many of our exhibitors are already working flat out on their new products and presentations. Düsseldorf will be a powerful source of inspiration for the plastics and rubber world!”
Some 3,000 exhibiting companies will participate in K come 16–23 October 2013. Suppliers from Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and the USA will again be strongly represented, says Messe Düsseldorf, and the number of Asian manufacturers from China, Taiwan and India continues to rise. Exhibitors will be presenting to a large global audience machinery and equipment for the plastics and rubber industry; raw materials and auxiliaries; and semifinished products, technical parts and reinforced plastics.
The organiser calls the triennial K a trend barometer and innovation forum for the entire plastics and rubber sector. Company exhibits will be supplemented by a special show entitled “Plastics Move the World”. Here, aspects of the theme of mobility will be taken up—everything from lightweight design in the construction of vehicles, aircraft and ships to electromobility, individual mobility and modern leisure behaviour.
