UK – The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA), has just announced that the number of trade visitors at this year’s event has increased by 5%.
Organisers of Mach 2018, The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA), has just announced that the number of trade visitors at this year’s leading manufacturing technologies event noted an increase of 5% over the number in the last edition in 2016.
A total of 23,125 trade visitors attended the exhibition held at NEC, Birmingham, UK from 9-13 April, MTA, the UK trade association for the manufacturing technologies industry noted. The event organiser also said that 19,445 of those visitors registered directly with Mach, which notes a 7% increase on the previous edition, while an additional 3,680 registered with one of the co-located exhibitions and visited Mach as well.
Besides trade visitors, students also attended the show, having toured the exhibition and experienced a range of hands-on activities at the Education and Development Zone as well – these visitors alone added up to a further 1,529 visitors to Mach 2018, recording a total of 24,654 attendees. The growth of the exhibition and the increase in the complexity of the technology on display also registered 10% more machines than the previous event. The organisers recorded a 24% increase in the number of visitors who attended for more than one day, which went up to up to 1,889. Wednesday 11 April was the peak day, with 7,331 trade visitors in the halls. 2018 saw the exhibition occupying halls in the newer, Atrium, side of the NEC, which enabled the trade show to be presented on one level.
James Selka, MTA CEO said: “It was great to see so many people at Mach 2018. For all those using or supplying manufacturing technology, Mach is the place to do business and keep up to date with the latest technology. That so many people made sure they were there is testament to the strength of exhibition and its place at the heart of UK manufacturing.”
With so many manufacturing technologies supply chain under one roof – represented by just about 5,583 representatives at the booths, it is no surprise that a lot of business was done between exhibiting companies during the show as well.
