EPMA Offers March PM Sintering Short Course in Sweden

Editor: Douglas Sellers

The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA): is offering an intensive two-day short course on powder metallurgy (PM) sintering in Helsingborg, Sweden, on March 18–20, 2012. Entitled “PM Sintering—Fundamentals and Mass Production,” the course will take place at the Elite Hotel Marina Plaza in Helsingborg.

This EPMA short course is designed especially for engineers and scientists who have an interest in the sintering process. It should be particularly beneficial to technical and managerial personnel in the PM industry and will also be useful to academics and researchers seeking an overview of trends in sintering technology.

Sintering is a key element of PM technology. It is during this step that the consolidated metal powder acquires the strength it needs to fulfill its intended use as an engineering product.

The course participation fee is €495 for EPMA members, €595 for nonmembers and €396 for academicians and students. For this nonrefundable fee, participants will receive all relevant course documents plus refreshments and a special event dinner meal on the evening of March 19.

Further information on the PM Sintering short course, along with an opportunity to register, is available online at www.epma.com/shortcourse. Space is limited, so early registration is recommended. The deadline for application is February 10.
