This year marks the third time MM MaschinenMarkt is presenting MM Awards at the international exhibition for automation and mechatronics. Exhibitors at Automatica that are displaying commercially available innovations introduced to the market not more than 12 months previously are eligible to apply for an award. Projects still in development cannot be considered.

The innovation may be either a completely new technology or an alteration of or improvement to an earlier form of the technology which exhibits fundamental differences from its precursor. Innovations in jointed-arm robotics, Scara robotics, assembly, image processing, sensor technology, gripper systems, drive technology or medical engineering will be judged on their degree of technical innovation, operating efficiency and design or system-integration features. Applications should be for a specified category.

The core of each application is to be a detailed description of the innovative product or process, distinguishing it precisely, explaining its principal benefits and presenting the innovation’s selling proposition. The full submission must be received by the editorial department of MM by 26 April. It should be sent to the attention of Claudia Krampert.

Automatica takes place in Munich 22–25 May, 2012. Competition winners will receive their awards at a ceremony scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 22 May, in Hall B1 of the exhibition centre, at the Automatica Forum.
