The International Plastics and Rubber Processing Fair Plastpol has become one of the most important events in the European plastics and rubber industry. The 28th edition in Targi Kielce brought together over 600 companies from 31 countries, mainly from Europe, Asia and the Middle East. “From the very first day, we have welcomed thousands of visitors, with innovative technologies attracting the most interest. Exhibitors cited energy efficiency as the most important aspect for customers. Machines that save up to 30, 40 or 50 percent of energy compared to standard machines are in great demand,” said Andrzej Mochoń, President of the Kielce Fair and Congress Centre.

High-tech injection moulding machines were sold by the world's leading machine manufacturers: Arburg from Germany, Engel from Austria and Bole Europe Technology from Poland. The lists of contracts also include agreements with Polish companies. The Italian Toyo Europe group signed contracts for robots and injection moulding machines. Injection moulding machines manufactured by the Asian company Borche, one of the largest and most dynamically developing companies in this industry on the Asian market, were sold by the Polish distributor Plastigo. The Polish company Muehsam is holding promising talks with great potential. A bottle sorter worth several hundred thousand euros from the Slovakian company Mayer will go directly from Targi Kielce to Romania.

Plastpol has also seen the company sign a contract to supply a wider range of recycling equipment. “More than fifty percent of the Talk Shop meetings held here in Kielce result in contracts” says Vincent Kundrat, Managing Director of Meyer Europe.

Critical product selection criteria are also linked to the sustainable development of companies. The Polish company Bedeko has signed agreements for the sale of Bio Line components. The German company Kraiburg TPE, a producer of TPE compounds for the automotive, consumer goods, industrial and medical sectors, successfully concluded a number of talks.

A cooperation agreement was signed between the Polish company ML Polyolefins, the largest producer of PP regranulate in Central and Eastern Europe, and one of the leading European suppliers of plastic household products, the Keeeper Group. The agreement covers the supply of approximately 2,000 tonnes of recyclate per year. As both parties point out, this cooperation is the result of the pursuit of sustainable development not only in the plastics processing industry, but also in the sectors that use plastics, such as trade. “We are constantly increasing the production of baskets made from recycled materials. Baskets made of recycled material are delivered to retail chains in many European countries,” says Grzegorz Kicerman, President of Keeper.

“We are ready to supply the highest quality regranulate, also for the production of food packaging; we are still waiting for the European Commission to act,” explained Krzysztof Nowosielski, ML Polyolefins' Commercial Director.

“We expect to sign several more agreements. Many more contacts will certainly come to fruition after the Expo,” sums up Kamil Perz, Plastpol Project Director.
