Germany – The wear-resistant Paul Horn indexable inserts type DAH37 are now available in two geometries. DAH37 are good as tough, wear-optimised and carbide indexable inserts for high feed milling, the company says.

It went on to explain: In tooth profile roughing, a 40 mm cutter equipped with five such inserts achieves a chip volume of 720 cm3/min on material 42CrMo4.

In addition to the neutral form of grades SA4B and SC6A, a positive form of grade SA4B is now available. Non-alloy to high alloyed steels and martensitic and austenitic stainless steels can now be processed up to a cutting depth of 1.2 mm with a material-specific feed of up to 3 mm per tooth. The triple tooth cutter DAH37 literally feasts on unalloyed and stainless steels and aluminium, says Horn. Their corner radius is 0.8 mm and they can be securely fixed with a clamping screw in a precision adapter. The radius formed on the inside of each insert allows for quick insertions into the workpiece. DAH37 fits into cutter heads and thread milling cutters with Ø 20, 25, 32 and 40 mm.
