CUMSA, Innovative Solutions for your Molds
CUMSA was founded in 1979, when Mr. Alberto Navarra decided to bring together the knowledge of a small group of Spanish moldmakers in one company. The objective was to reach new markets, such as Mexico, Denmark, and the USA, that were unattainable separately. CUMSA aimed to develop projects from the initial design stage to the production of plastic parts.
In 1992, CUMSA's management decided to expand the company's main activity, taking advantage of the experience acquired during more than 20 years and the knowledge of the daily problems molders and injectors had to face. They created a line of innovative, standardized products for molds, offering the market many advantages. Many of the products developed since then have become a reference for the mold industry due to their simplicity, functionality, ease of installation, and adjustment.
In 1998, Eurocumsa, the first branch, was founded in Marinha Grande, Portugal, to quickly supply one of the world's largest concentrations of moldmakers. In the 21st century, CUMSA continued its expansion with three new branches:
- CUMSA Italy, in 2004 (currently located in Bovisio Masciago, near Milan).
- CUMSA Standard Parts for Molds, in 2009, located in Shenzen.
- CUMSA USA, founded in 2012 and located in Detroit, USA.
At the end of 2017, CUMSA TECH was created in Portugal with the aim of manufacturing a new line of hydraulic cylinders that would offer molders and injectors more possibilities for applying these products to molds.
