MEX 2017 Control system for ease and efficiency
Hirschmann has a new generation of control units, H1625.AC4 Touch, that has an external operating unit with a seven-inch touch monitor and colour display as well as an intuitive menu navigation that allows for fault tracking and correction via Internet, the company says.
The system has been developed for uniaxial and multiaxial use of the company's rotary indexing tables and rotating spindles in EDM, HSC and laser machines. An advantage over the previous system is that it can be better positioned, offering dynamic and shorter regulation cycle efficiency and improved profitability.
A cable connects the control unit to the mobile operating unit to improve user comfort. Users can start their individual programming using the touch panel, which has a scroll function to raise or lower speed individually. With its magnetic back, the operating panel can be fixed onto the machine easily and the control unit itself can be placed close to the machine to save space. Communication with the machine control system for optimal positioning of workpieces takes place through IO interfaces.
The large, coloured touch display with background lighting supports the operator during operations and provides easily legible information.
NC programs are clear and simple, with text notes providing support for each step. H1625.AC4 also offers external programming on a PC. In production, data can be transmitted to the control system of the axes via LAN or a USB interface. System updates can also be made with USB. Many programming languages are offered, besides English and German.
For Hirschmann's rotary indexing tables and rotating spindles, H1625.AC4 offers advantages in fault diagnostics and correction. It can be permanently integrated into a network and the machine can be accessed from a PC via the Internet, where the control unit is shown 1:1 on the display.
