Complete machining solutions including a robot loader

Anca, a manufacturer of CNC grinding machines, debuted a industrial robot loader at EMO. According to the company, developing this industrial robot was a logical extension for a company with extensive knowledge of the CNC market.

Pat McCluskey, ANCA’s co-founder and lead designer on the project said: “To give the market a taste of what we have coming up in the future we are excited to preview our robotic tool loader at EMO 2017 that has been fully designed and built in house by our experienced engineering team. We recognise that as the market moves towards greater automation, providing a low cost solution for tool loading was something our customers would welcome.” According to the company, the robot does not use a separate free-standing controller. Instead, the software runs within the machine's CNC core software, using the machine's operator panel. According to Anca, the company wants to deliver complete machining solutions to its customers and the robot loader is one step in that direction.

Another solution presented by Anca at EMO was the multi-robot production cell solution. The single-base cell includes automated part loading, high precision grinding, and quality assurance, outproducing the previous multi-machine process while achieving part quality requirements, Anca says.
