Hainbuch Clamping force measurement can be added to controls
Germany – Hainbuch has announced that its clamping force software is now available on Sinumerik CNC controllers from Siemens.
Related Company

The Hainbuch Testit software can be installed on the controllers, eliminating both the need for a separate laptop and manufacturing with “theoretical” forces. With the system, users know what clamping forces exist and where, and the actual maintenance status of the clamp, Hainbuch said.
Growing stronger together using synergies
The company noted that the system can help shops adhere to the DIN EN 1550 safety standard. The Testit clamping force gauge (photo) and the Siemens CNC controller offer a target-actual comparison of the maintenance status of a clamping device, Hainbuch explained, adding that if the limit values are under-ranged, a warning message is output.
Advantages are said to include measurement for O.D. and I.D. clamping, use with rotating and stationary applications, and the direct input into the Siemens CNC controller.
