For complex machining, Work-NC V22 software has improved finishing and toolpaths, supplier Sescoi said. It noted that the tangent-to-curve toolpath is the ideal solution for machining specific features on 2D parts by direct selection of vertical surfaces or by automatic wall detection following planar surface selection.

Moreover, Work-NC V22 can improve management of the production environment with a Machine Context function that groups together all relevant machine configuration elements required by different modules. Five-axis strategies with new ergonomics and programming increase flexibility and enhance machining capabilities; toolpath programming is done in a single, centralised dialogue box, Sescoi said.

The Work-NC Robot modules control robots with capacities up to 15 axes. This cuts costs as time-consuming learning cycles are eliminated. Dedicated simulation gives immediate verification of robot kinematics by accounting for collision management, the company said.
