DMG parent Gildemeister has announced a flurry of bookings for its machines following the DMG/Mori Seiki open house exhibition held in Pfronten, Germany, earlier this year, an event that was attended by a record number of visitors.

The company said it booked orders for 574 machines worth a total of €150.5 million at the event, which featured a total of 72 exhibits and six world premieres alongside three European premieres. From 29 January to 2 February, more than 6,000 trade visitors attended the event, which featured information about and working models of DMG and Mori Seiki technologies, Gildemeister said. It noted that international visitors, mainly from Europe and Russia, made a strong contribution to the visitor record.

The main areas of focus at the open house were the company’s industry-specific solutions for the aerospace, automotive, medical and energy solution sectors, according to the host. It added that a further highlight was the automation area, where the company displayed solutions ranging from modular integration to automated mass production.
