Ewag An “all in one” laser precision machine
Switzerland – The Laser Line Precision, Ewag’s latest machine with a footprint of only 5 m2, has a short-pulse fiber-laser technology used in the green-wavelength range (532 nm) machine.
The company claims that it offers efficient machining results in combination with commercially available diamond cutting materials such as CBN, PKD and CVC-D. Rotationally symmetrical tools of up to 200 mm diameter and lengths of up to 250 mm as well as indexable inserts from 3 mm inscribed diameter and up to 50 mm circumscribed diameter can be machined without force with this machine.
Ewag says its patented Laser Touch Machining process offers high surface quality, even on tools with complex or delicate geometries, and that any cutting contours, clearances and 3D machining of chip breaker geometries can be performed in a single clamping operation. Flue gas and vaporised material are suctioned away and carried to a complementary suction/filter system.
An optional 6-axis robot offers high levels of flexibility during multi-shift operations.
