Ametek-owned Faro Technologies and Creaform have reorganised their metrology and reality capture activities into two new business units, separating dimensional measurement and reality capture into distinct operations

Faro Technologies and Creaform, both businesses of Ametek, Inc., have announced a strategic reorganisation of their activities in metrology and reality capture. Faro’s 3D Measurement business segment has been combined with Creaform to form a new business unit, Faro Creaform, while Faro’s reality capture activities will operate under the new Faro Insight business unit.

Faro Creaform will focus on portable and automated dimensional measurement solutions for manufacturing and maintenance applications. Faro Insight will concentrate on reality capture technologies that convert physical environments into actionable digital data for construction, public safety and geospatial applications. According to the companies, the reorganisation is intended to increase customer value, accelerate innovation and create synergies to support long-term growth.

Faro Creaform will be led by Fanny Truchon, with a focus on improving usability, mobility and customer access to a unified metrology portfolio. Faro Insight will operate under the leadership of Dietmar Wennemer, alongside Virtek Vision, and aims to provide an integrated ecosystem spanning data capture, point cloud processing and digital-twin workflows.

Building on Faro’s more than 40 years of leadership in 3D measurement and reality capture and Creaform’s handheld metrology innovation since 2002, this next phase introduces a unified structure designed to ensure continuity, provide clear, timely information, and maintain the trust customers and partners expect.
