According to the company, it is suitable for all common methods of cast iron milling and strikes a good balance between safety and performance requirements with just one single grade. GC3330 is also said to be appropriate for unmanned operations.

Ways to increase the energy efficiency of cutting processes

The grade is suitable for dry and wet processing applications and for roughing and finishing operations, the company said. According to Sandvik, the primary driving force behind the versatility and performance is an innovation in cutting materials. The GC3330 milling grade has a CVD alumina coating layer with a uni-directional crystal orientation produced under controlled conditions.
