With the AW series, industrial air purification specialist Absolent is launching a new generation of oil mist separators. The compact units combine low vibration and light weight with plug-and-play installation and are designed for use on modern machine tools and machining centres.

The AW series is designed to meet the challenges of high-precision and micro-machining. According to Absolent, manufacturing companies wishing to avoid unplanned production downtime caused by oil mist deposits and reduce their maintenance costs through extended maintenance intervals for their machine tools will find the right solution for every machine. At the same time, clean and healthy air in the manufacturing environment improves workplace safety, whilst the risk of health hazards for machine operators is demonstrably reduced.

“With four connection options and their compact design, our AW oil mist separators are designed for modern manufacturing environments where uptime, precision and energy efficiency are crucial,” emphasises Hartmut Enderle, Sales Manager at Absolent.

Despite their compact design and small footprint, the oil separators deliver high filtration performance at airflows of up to 800 m³/h and particle loads of up to 30 mg/m³. Each unit is factory-calibrated with five selectable airflow levels, allowing the capacity to be easily adapted to the specific machining operation on the machine tool.

Intelligent energy efficiency for consistent filtration

A key feature of the AW series is the Ecodrive system. This technology monitors the air flow in real time and automatically adjusts the filter motor’s speed to match actual demand. As a result, the air flow rate always remains within the optimal range — regardless of fluctuations in the production process or filter loading. According to Absolent, this not only reduces energy consumption by up to 40 percent, but also increases operational reliability and extends the service life of the components. “Our Ecodrive technology makes a decisive contribution to sustainably reducing the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO),” says Hartmut Enderle, speaking from practical experience.

Automatic oil return for reduced maintenance

The units are also equipped with Absolent’s proprietary and patented Catch&Release technology. Here, innovative fibre-layer filtration enables the automatic return of the separated oil, so that the filter effectively empties itself. This keeps the separation efficiency constant, extends the service life of the filters and significantly reduces maintenance requirements.
