UK – With processing speed on the shop floor being more crucial than ever, Open Mind Technologies has developed its hyper-Mill Maxx Machining, the company's comprehensive high-performance CAM solution for roughing, finishing and drilling that generates machining time savings of up to 90%, as the company claims.
The latest version of this ground breaking CAM software will be on show at the Hurco UK headquarters in High Wycombe on 4 October. At the event, manufacturers will have an opportunity to witness all the latest 5-axis machine tool technology from Hurco with live demonstrations on a VMX42 SRTI machining centre.

The demo day will highlight the synergy and the potential of combining 5-axis machine tools with new tooling concepts such as circle segment end-mills from Quickgrind and the latest hyper-Mill Maxx Machining module. This performance package offers end users three powerful modules for roughing, finishing and drilling.
According to the company, with live machining demonstrations on the Hurco VMX42 SRTI, Open Mind engineers will show how hyper-Mill's technology can deliver time savings of up to 75% for roughing, using trochoidal tool paths and the innovative 5-axis helical drilling cycle. Furthermore, by utilising innovative strategies with barrel cutters, cycle time reductions of up to 90% can be achieved for finishing operations. The CAM leaders will be introducing a number of new concepts and strategies that will help customers finish parts in record time too. Some of these techniques will include processes on how to use tilted milling tools to quickly and easily open pockets or drill holes in hard material without the need for a pre-drilled holes.
The event will start at 9 in the morming and run right through to 2pm with comprehensive “live” demos, a Q&A session and will also provide the opportunity to talk to engineers from Hurco, Open Mind and Quickgrind on how the synergy between machine tool, CAM and tooling can really open up new avenues for your business.
