GOM 3D scanner can trace part geometries in space
Germany – GOM has announced the release of its software Inspect Professional, now featuring functions like tracking component movements online and back projection.

According to the company, the tracking allows the 3D scanner Atos to trace single points and complete component geometries in space. It can measure and visualise the alignment or positional deviation of a component from the nominal position. Other applications are assembly analysis of moulds and tools, calibration and positioning of gauges, jigs and fixtures, GOM added.
Another function is the back projection function, in which the 3D sensor projects features such as isolines and punch marks straight from the software onto the part for verifying inspection results in workpieces, the company noted. This replaces the need to mark blanks.
