Companies seeking access to the booming mould making industry in the People’s Republic of China are spurring interest in this year’s Asiamold, according to Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt, which is organising the show in cooperation with Demat GmbH, the Hong Kong Mould & Die Council and Guangzhou Die & Mould Industry Association.
Responding to the level of interest indicated so far by companies considering exhibiting at the show, Louis Leung, Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt’s deputy general manager, believes that the sixth edition of the fair promises to be a “tremendous success”.
Companies from China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Taiwan and the USA are said to have booked exhibition space at Asiamold, which is scheduled for 19–21 September at the Poly World Trade Centre Expo in Guangzhou, China. The show will feature a full range of products, services and technologies for moulding and die-casting in two halls at the exhibition centre. The total Asiamold floor space will be 20,000 m², the organiser said.
It explained that China’s rapidly developing economy and fast-growing manufacturing industry are creating a huge demand for advanced mould making technology. The organiser said the four thematic zones at this year’s show are designed to sate the appetites of mould makers hungry for top-notch equipment and processes. Those special-focus exhibition areas are the Automold and Engineering Zone, Electronics Product Design and Mould-making Zone, Metalworking Zone and Foundry and Die-casting Asia Zone.
In the first six months of 2011, mould imports into China increased by 24% from the previous year. During the same period, mould exports had risen by 38%. Exports are expected to increase significantly, as Chinese manufacturers are investing heavily in technology to produce more-sophisticated products to meet growing demand from international markets.
